Highlights: Creating & Managing Mobile Highlights

Highlights are announcements published to the mobile app or your displays, and they can be used to share important information with your users. Highlights always include an image, titles and descriptions, and they can include a link to an external website, inquiry form, in-app feature, or other attachments. In this article we will discuss:

To create, edit, and manage your highlights, navigate to the Engage module and click App Home Screen.

On the App Home Screen page, you will see all highlight sections. Within each of those, you will see current and past highlights- you can easily edit, duplicate or delete highlights using the icons under the Action column. Click on one of the three buttons at the top to create a highlight.

    • +New Row Section: Click here to create a new highlight arranged in tiles in a row
    • +New Spotlight Section: Click here to create a new highlights are full-width in a carousel

Creating Mobile Highlight Sections

A mobile highlight section is section on the app home page. Use this as a way to organize and categorize your highlights.

  1. Click on +New Section
  2. Fill out the form:
    • Section Type:
      • Row Section: traditional Highlight orientation (Highlights arranged in tiles in a row)
      • Spotlight Section: NEW Highlight orientation (Highlights are full-width in a carousel)
    • Section Title: Name your Highlight section (this will be visible on the app). Create themed Spotlight Sections that showcase multiple highlights (eg- Fitness), or single highlights (individual amenities).
    • Section Description: Provide a description for this section. This will be visible to users.
    • Status:
      • Active: Highlight section and all highlights in the section are active and visible to users
      • Hidden: Highlight section and all highlights in the section are not visible to users
    • Highlight Screen: If you would like to link a new Highlight Screen to this Spotlight, choose it from the dropdown menu. If you would like to link to a traditional Highlight on the home page, leave it set to Home Screen (Default).
  1. Click Save.

Creating Mobile Highlights

  1. Click on +New Highlight.
  2. Fill out the categories to create your highlight.
    • More about Contact and Button Configuration
      • Include Web Link Button: Check this box to add an external web link to your highlight. Be sure to add text to the button field (this is what user's will see)

      • Include Contact Phone: Check this box to a phone number to your highlight

      • Include Inquiry Form? (asks for Phone # and Inquiry from interested users): Check this b

        ox to add an inquiry form to your highlight. Fill out the form for button text, description, email address, and email subject.

      • Include link to app feature: Check this box to link an in-app feature to the highlight. This is a great way to promote in-app features and make them more visible on the app homepage.

      • User Tag Visibility: to show this Highlight to only specific user groups, select Only Visible To Specified User Tags and select from the dropdown menu.

  1. Click Save.

Managing Mobile Highlights

Once you create and save a highlight, it will appear in the highlight table. From here you can:

  • see a quick view of the highlight, including:
    • title
    • subtitle
    • highlight section
    • status (published, draft, hidden)
    • show until
    • date created
  • edit, duplicate, or delete a highlight
  • filter to search for highlights
  • download a .csv of highlight overviews
