In mid-November, the Cove mobile app will display building content images in standardized sizes, so Events, Meet the Team, Highlights, and Spotlights look more consistent and polished for tenants.
No action is required. Cove will automatically adjust existing images to fit the new formats. Teams that want more control over how images look, especially images with text on them, can update them ahead of time.
What's changing
Each content type will use one of two image formats in the mobile app:
| Content type | Image format | Shape |
|---|---|---|
| Events | 1:1 | Square |
| Meet the Team | 1:1 | Square |
| Highlights | 1.6:1 | Wide (landscape) |
| Spotlights | 1.6:1 | Wide (landscape) |
When to update images
Updating images is optional. It's worth doing if:
- An image includes text, logos, or faces that could be cut off when it's resized
- You want full control over how an image is framed in the mobile app
Optional: Update images
- Preview event images on the dashboard. Open an event's details page on the dashboard to see a preview of how its image will look in the new square format.
- Edit each instance of existing events. For events that have already been created, including recurring events, the image must be updated on each instance of the event.
- Check Meet the Team photos. Square photos with the face centered work best.
- Review Highlights and Spotlights. Use wide 1.6:1 images for the best fit.
- Keep key details away from the edges. Text, logos, and faces near the edges are most likely to be cut off.
FAQ
Do I need to update my images? No. Cove will automatically adjust images to fit the new formats. Updating is only recommended for images with text or details you want framed a specific way.
What happens if I don't update an image? Cove will resize it automatically to fit the new format. Text or details near the edges may not appear as intended.
