When a building engineer finds a problem while working a maintenance task, they can open a corrective work order directly from that task instead of logging a separate ticket from scratch. The work order stays linked back to the task and equipment it came from, so the history travels with it.
Before you start: The work order type, default priority/category, and which roles can create a corrective work order from a task are controlled by your Work Order Setup & Configuration settings. If those defaults need to change, start there rather than here.
On the Web Dashboard
- Open the maintenance task from the dashboard
- Under Overview, select Corrective Work Order on the task.
- The Corrective Work Order drawer opens on the right-hand side, which carries over the equipment, location (building, floor, suite), and a reference in the description to the PM task — and fill in anything that doesn’t, such as assignee.
- Add the problem details: describe what you found, and attach photos or notes if useful.
- Submit the work order.
On the Mobile App
- Open the maintenance task from your task list.
- Tap Open Corrective Work Order
- Select the type of service request
- The location( building, floor, suite) and equipment will carry over
- Add the problem details, including photos if useful.
- Submit the work order.
