My Work Log provides Building teams with a centralized place to review active Work Orders and quickly log work from the Dashboard.
Labor, notes, materials, mileage, status changes, and Work Order completion can all be managed from a single card view without opening each Work Order individually.
In this article, we will discuss:
- Accessing My Work Log
- Weekly Activity Summary
- Worked On and Assigned to Me
- Filtering and Sorting Work Orders
- Logging Work Order activity
- Dashboard and mobile activity

Weekly Activity Summary
The top of My Work Log displays My Items or My Labor Hours
-
My Items: Displays all work orders, auto-sorted by your last activity. You can select between worked on, assigned to Me, open work, completed/closed, and missing completion steps
-
My Labor Hours: Total labor hours logged during the current week across Work Orders.
Worked On and Assigned to Me
Switch between primary work views using the top tabs:
Worked On: Work orders where you have taken qualifying actions (e.g., added notes, logged labor/materials, or updated status).
Assigned to Me: All work orders currently assigned to your user account.
(Each tab displays a count badge showing how many work orders meet the criteria).
Filtering and Sorting Work Orders
Filters can be used to narrow the Work Orders displayed in My Work Log.
Status Filters
- Open Work: Displays open and in-progress Work Orders. This filter is enabled by default.
- Completed/Closed: Displays completed/closed Work Orders.
At least one status filter must remain selected.
Action Filters
- Missing Completion Steps: Displays Work Orders that are missing information required for completion, such as Labor, Notes, or Mileage (if enabled).
- Missing Labor: Displays Work Orders where labor hours have not been logged.
Sorting
Work Orders can be sorted by:
- Your Last Activity: Displays Work Orders based on the current user's most recent activity. This is the default sort.
- Submitted Date: Sort by newest or oldest submission date.
- Updated Date (Newest): Sort based on when the Work Order was last updated.
Logging Work Order Activity
Each Work Order is displayed as a card containing key Work Order information and fields for quickly recording activity.
The card displays information including the Work Order ID, Category, Issue Type, location, tenant, asset, building, and description, when applicable.
Select the Work Order ID to open the full Work Order.
Activity can be logged directly from the card:
- Notes: Add Work Order updates and select the appropriate note visibility when available. Saved notes (if enabled) are added to the Work Order's Notes & Activity.
- Labor: Select the applicable labor rate and enter the hours worked. You can select the standard rate or select Other to surface all listed. The last used labor rate will auto-select.
- Materials: Select the material used and enter the applicable quantity.
- Travel: Enter mileage when Travel is enabled for the site.
Once activity is saved, the metric next to each entry will display with a green check mark.
Dashboard and mobile activity
All labor, mileage, materials, notes, and completions logged on the Web Dashboard instantly synchronize with the Cove Mobile App (and vice versa). Whether you log work in the field on mobile or catch up at your desktop at the end of the day, your weekly totals and audit trails remain 100% consistent.
Recommended Workflows
My Work Log can be used throughout the day or as part of an end-of-day review.
- Review missing activity: Use Worked On with Missing Labor or Missing Completion Steps to identify Work Orders that still require information.
- Complete Work Orders: Add required Notes, Labor, Materials, or Mileage from the card before completing finished Work Orders.
- Review work across sites: Use All My Sites to review Work Orders across multiple properties. Building information displayed on each card helps identify the applicable site.
