If the app is closing immediately after opening, this is typically tied to a specific device model or OS version and can usually be resolved with a few troubleshooting steps. Common signs include the app closing immediately upon launch without an error message, a crash report appearing shortly after start, or the app opening to a black screen or becoming unresponsive.

Basic Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Restart your device to clear temporary system glitches.
  2. Uninstall and reinstall the app from the official app store.
  3. Close all other apps running in the background to free system resources.

Advanced Troubleshooting Steps

If basic troubleshooting does not resolve the issue, work through the steps below based on your device.

The steps check out. One note on the Android path: current Android versions use "Storage & cache" rather than just "Storage," so I've updated that. Here are the revised sections:

  • Update iOS (iPhone Users)
Keeping iOS up to date can resolve app stability issues. Before updating, make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi and plugged into power.
  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Tap Software Update.
  4. If an update is available, tap Download and Install and follow the on-screen prompts.
  • Clear App Cache or Data (Android Users)
If reinstalling did not resolve the issue, clearing the app's cached data may help.
  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Find and select the Cove app from the list.
  4. Tap Storage & cache.
  5. Tap Clear Cache, then tap Clear Data.
  6. Restart your device and try opening the app again.
  • Check Device Compatibility
Before troubleshooting further, confirm that your device meets the app's minimum requirements.
    • Check your device model and current OS version against the app's minimum supported versions.
    • Devices running outdated or unsupported operating systems may experience instability.

  • Update the App
Running an outdated version of the app can cause crashes. To check for updates:
    • On iPhone: Open the App Store, tap your profile icon, and scroll to see available updates.
    • On Android: Open the Google Play Store, tap your profile icon, then tap Manage apps and device to see available updates.
