Event surveys allow property teams to easily gather feedback from attendees after an event ends, either automatically as part of event setup or manually from the event detail page. This gives teams flexibility to collect feedback when it makes sense: before the event goes live, after attendance is clearer, or later if admins decide they want to measure response after the fact.

Creating Surveys
Before you can send an event survey, you need to have a survey created in the Surveys area of the dashboard.
Click here to learn more about creating surveys: Creating Surveys
When working from the Surveys page, admins can also generate a survey deep link. This makes it possible to copy and paste a direct survey link into other communications if needed. Survey deep links support app and dashboard routing so users can be taken to the survey response experience from either environment.
Setting up Auto-Send Within the Event
Property teams can configure an event survey directly from the Event page when creating or editing an event. This allows the survey to be automatically sent to attendees after the event ends.
Navigate to the Engage module and then the Events page in the dashboard.
Create a New Event or click the edit icon next to an existing event.
Scroll down to the Event Survey section.
-
Check the Send Event Surveys to RSVP's box and the configuration fields will appear.
Select Survey To Link: Select the appropriate survey from the dropdown menu
-
Who To Send To:
All RSVPs (Default): Survey will be sent to everyone who RSVP'd. If you check this option, be sure you have enabled RSVP collection on the event.
Checked In Users: Survey will be sent to everyone who checked into the event
-
Notification Method: (Choose one or both)
- Push Notification: Tenants will receive a push note with a deep link to the survey. The push notification will read: Thanks for attending [Survey name]! Take this survey to tell us more about your experience.
- Email: If the survey is configured as email, tenants will receive an email containing a link that opens the survey directly.
- Timing of Survey: Determine when the survey will be sent automatically after the event (hour, day, week intervals)
- Finalize the rest of the event form and click Save.
Manually Sending Surveys
Property teams can also send a survey manually before or after an event has occurred, without needing to configure it during event setup. This is useful if the team decides afterward that they want feedback or wants to wait until attendance or engagement data is clearer before sending.
Navigate to the Engage module and then the Events page in the dashboard. If the event already occurred, open the Past tab.
Click the name of the event to open the RSVP, Checked In, and Survey response table.
Click the Edit Survey or Create Survey button in the upper right corner, and a drawer will open on the right.
Note: If the event already has a survey attached the button will read Edit Survey. If the event does not already have a survey attached, the button will read Create Survey.-
Configure the event survey:
Select Survey To Link: Select the appropriate survey from the dropdown menu
-
Who To Send To:
All RSVPs (Default): Survey will be sent to everyone who RSVP'd. If you check this option, be sure you have enabled RSVP collection on the event.
-
Checked In Users: Survey will be sent to everyone who checked into the event
Notes about checking guests in:- If you would like guests to check themselves into the event, be sure the Use QR code for Check-In option is enabled.
- Guests can be manually checked into the event on the dashboard
-
Notification Method: (Choose one or both)
- Push Notification: Tenants will receive a push note with a deep link to the survey. The push notification will read: Thanks for attending [Survey name]! Take this survey to tell us more about your experience.
- Email: If the survey is configured as email, tenants will receive an email containing a link that opens the survey in the app.
- Timing of Survey: Choose the date and time you would like this survey sent
- Click Save.
How Users Take the Survey
Push Notification
Push notifications will be sent according to how they are configured through automatic or manual send. Tapping the push note will open the survey directly within the app.
Note: If the user is not on the most recent version of the app, the notification will instead open the event page rather than the survey itself.
Email surveys will be sent according to how they are configured through automatic or manual send. The email will include a link that opens the survey directly, allowing attendees to complete it from their device.
If the email is opened on a mobile device and the Cove app is installed and up to date, the survey will open directly in the mobile app. If the app is not installed or the user is on an older version, the link will instead open the event page.
If the email is opened from a desktop, the link will open in the Cove dashboard in the user’s browser and automatically open the survey form.
Reviewing Survey Results
Post-event survey responses can be reviewed from both the Event page and the Surveys section of the dashboard.
To review responses from the Event Detail page:
Navigate to the Events page in the dashboard.
Click the event name to open the Event Detail page.
Select the Survey Responses tab.
Review the responses tied to that event.
This table displays the respondent’s name, tenant, submission date, and their answers to the survey questions.
To review responses from the Surveys section:
Navigate to the Surveys page in the dashboard.
Click the survey you want to review.
Open the Survey Responses view for that survey.
Review all submitted responses.
This table includes an Event Title column so admins can see which event each response is associated with.
Notes:
Click the download icon to download a csv of survey results.
If the same survey is linked to multiple events and a user completes it more than once, Cove associates the response with the event that occurred closest before the submission date. This helps ensure responses are tied to the most relevant event for reporting.
Troubleshooting
Survey opens the wrong page from a notification or email
If a user is not on the most recent version of the app, the deep link may open the event page instead of the survey. Updating the app should resolve this.Survey responses do not appear under the event
Responses are tied to an event through the survey link or notification. If the survey was accessed from a link without event context, the response may only appear in the Survey responses page instead of under the event. The wrong attendees received the survey
Verify the Send To settings used when configuring the survey. Surveys can be sent to All RSVPs, All Checked In users, or both.An admin needs to resend a survey
Admins can send another survey even after one has already been delivered. Open the event and event detail drawer, and use the survey workflow to schedule another send.A scheduled survey needs to be stopped
If the survey has been scheduled but not yet sent, admins can return to the event survey form to edit or cancel the scheduled survey.
