The Activity Log allows building staff to record notable events and incidents as they occur throughout the day. It provides a centralized, chronological record that helps property and building teams maintain visibility, accountability, and continuity across shifts. Entries are created manually and are visible to authorized users once the feature is enabled.

Activity Log entries can be used to document a wide range of building activity, including:

  • Front desk or lobby observations

  • Incidents or issues that do not require a work order

  • Notes associated with a tenant, household, or specific location

  • General building activity that may be useful for future reference

Each entry captures who recorded the activity, when it occurred, and any relevant contextual details.

The Activity Log supports manual entry creation with date and time, notes, and optional references, and displays entries in a searchable, filterable table. Logged activity can be exported to CSV for reporting or record keeping, and entries can only be edited by the user who created them to help preserve accountability.

User Roles
  • Building Admins can configure the module
  • Reservation Manager, Security Manager, Building Engineer, Engineering Manager, Building Manager, and Building Admins can add and view Activity Log entries.

Adding and editing Activity Log entries

  1. Navigate to the Activity Log module and page. 

  2. Click New Entry in the upper right corner.

  3. Complete the entry fields:

    • Date and Time (required)
      Defaults to the current date and time and cannot be set in the future

    • Tenant or Household (optional, based on configuration)

    • Location (optional)

    • Notes (required)

  4. Click Save

After saving:

  • A confirmation message appears

  • The entry is added to the top of the Activity Log

  • Your name is recorded as the author

To edit an existing entry:

  • Click the pencil icon next to an entry you created

  • Update any of the available fields and save your changes

Only the user who created an Activity Log entry can edit it, helping ensure clear ownership and an accurate historical record.


Viewing and searching Activity Log entries

The Activity Log displays entries in a table, sorted by most recent activity first. Each entry includes:

  • Date and time

  • Notes preview

  • Location

  • Tenant or household (if applicable)

  • The user who recorded the entry

Use the search or filter tools to search for activity by: date and time of activity, noted by, notes, location, type, tenant, or created by date and time.


Exporting the Activity Log

The Activity Log can be exported for reporting or record keeping.

When exporting:

  • The file downloads as a CSV

  • All visible table columns are included

  • Any applied filters are respected
