The Cove Kiosk App, when set up in Concierge mode, provides a dedicated visitor check-in experience for your property. It can be accessed on an iPad through the Cove Kiosk app or by opening kiosk.cove.is in a web browser. In Concierge mode, visitors can use the tablet to check in when they arrive, including self check-in, and the experience can be configured to support different check-in methods based on your building’s visitor management setup. In some configurations, visitors can also select the employee they are visiting directly from the tablet.

Who can set this up: Building Managers and Building Admins

Setting Up A Tablet in Concierge Mode

1. Download the Cove Kiosk app or open the URL in a browser

  • If using an iPad: Download the kiosk app

  • If using a browser on a tablet:

2. Log in to the Cove Kiosk Tablet App

  1. Open the Cove Kiosk Tablet App
  2. Log in using any Building Administrator’s email address
  3. Retrieve the login code from your email and enter it when prompted

3: Select your space and choose Concierge mode:

Follow the prompts in the app to configure the tablet:

  • Select Tablet Type: concierge

  • Select Site: choose your building

4. Grant Camera Permissions

Grant permissions for the app to use your camera. This is required so that your guests can scan their personalized QR code to check in. Depending on your tablet's settings, you will either be automatically prompted to grant permission, or you will need to grant permission manually.

  • To automatically grant camera permission follow the prompts from your iPad.
  • To manually grant camera permission follow these steps:
    1. Navigate to Settings > Privacy
    2. Choose Camera
    3. Scroll to find the Cove Kiosk Tablet app
    4. 4. Tap to grant camera permission

5. Turn Off Auto-Lock

Turn off auto-lock so that your tablet never goes to sleep.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Accessibility
  2. Choose Display Auto-Lock
  3. Choose Never

6. If you are using the Kiosk in a web browser, switch the browser to full screen mode.
Set the browser to full screen or kiosk-style display mode so the Kiosk App fills the entire tablet screen and reduces visible browser controls.

  • Look for a full screen icon in the browser menu.
  • Open the browser’s menu and select options such as Full Screen, Hide Toolbar, or Add to Home Screen.
  • On some tablets, opening the page from a home screen shortcut can create a more app-like full-screen experience.

The exact steps vary by tablet and browser.
