Work Order Scheduling

Customize the scheduling mode for all work orders with end dates to determine if they should open at the time of creation, in advance, or on the day of the due date. In this article we will discuss:

Default Work Order Scheduling

Follow these directions to manage default work order scheduling for all work orders with due dates.

  1. Navigate to the Work Order module in the dashboard.
  2. Click on Work Order Setup.
  3. Click on the General Setup page.
  4. Scroll down to the Work Order Scheduling Mode section.
  5. Choose from the customizable options below.
  6. Click Save.

If you would like work orders with due dates to be opened in advance of the due date, choose Buffer Before Work Order Due Date. From here, an additional field will appear where you can choose how far in advance (days, weeks, months, years) you would like it to open.


If you would like work orders with due dates to be opened at the time they are created, choose Immediately when work order is created.


If you would like work orders with due dates to be opened the same day the work order is due, choose Same Day as the Work Order Due Date.


Issue-Type Specific Work Order Scheduling

Follow these directions to manage scheduling for specific work order issue types.

  1. Navigate to the Work Order module in the dashboard.
  2. Click on the Issue Types page.
  3. Within the Issue Types tab, click on the pencil icon next to an work order issue type.

  4. Scroll down to the Timing section of the form.
  5. Check or uncheck the Collect Due Date? button to determine whether or not tenants are asked for a due date for work orders with this issue type.
    • If checked, the Work Order Scheduling Mode will appear.
    • If unchecked, the Work Order Scheduling Mode section will not appear
  6. If you would like to collect due dates, follow the steps in the section above to configure the Work Order Scheduling Mode for this issue type.
  7. Click Save.
